Local Food Tasting at Rossiters of Bath!

As we mentioned in our previous blog post, Bath is currently in the middle of the Great Bath Feast, a fabulous festival celebrating the very best local food & drink. It’s pretty much the perfect fit for Taste of Bath, so naturally we had to get stuck in with our own event, and last Saturday we collaborated with Bath’s gorgeous destination department store, Rossiters, to offer a pop-up shop and mouth-watering free tasting.

Rossiters is a fabulous treasure trove of wonderful things, from luxurious home furnishings to beautiful jewellery, and their kitchen department is particularly legendary amongst Bath foodies, so it was the ideal place for our pop-up shop. We’ve got far too many delicious goodies to take them all along, but we had a selection of bestsellers on offer to buy, plus our stylish Taste of Bath totes – very much this season’s must-have It bag. And, for the main event, we had several of our lovely producers popping in throughout the day to offer tempting samples & chat to customers.

We started the day as all Saturdays should start, with elevenses – Detox Tea from Esther at Teahuggers, and a selection of incredible bakes by Jess at the Organic Cake Co, including some salted caramel chocolate brownies that we couldn’t give away fast enough! At lunchtime, we moved on to savoury nibbles with Bath Soft Cheese and In A Pickle’s Hot Date Chutney, washed down with Tempest beer from Albion Brewing Co – founder Harry popped up to chat to beer fans too. In the afternoon, Paul from Meg’s Cottage Fudge came down to share a few favourites from their delicious range, including a sneaky preview of their seasonal Christmas Pudding Fudge – not yet available to buy but look out for it at the Bath Christmas Market! And we finished the day with chocolate – is there any better way to do it? – from Nick at Seven Hills, particularly showcasing their Dark Chocolate with Espresso which features another of our fabulous producers, Roundhill Roastery.

Brownies

It was brilliant to spend the day with our customers – a few of our favourite regulars popped in to say hello, but we also managed to convert plenty of new Taste of Bath fans too. After all, once you’ve tasted the merchandise it’s really only a matter of time! We also had plenty of entries for our brilliant competition to win a Luxury Bath Box – but if you didn’t manage to come down, don’t worry, because you can still enter until the 9th of October, just by signing up to the Taste of Bath newsletter. Best of luck!
